“Why this bench, Dash?” Danny asked his new boyfriend, fidgeting at the open space they were in. He was always nervous when he knew that the space could be attacked. Dash knew his secret identity now, but that didn’t make him any less mortal. And they hadn’t come out yet. Not that anyone would ever mock Dash the football king for being gay, or openly mock his boyfriend. Especially if they found out that he was Danny Phantom. Dash was quite excited that his first sweetheart crush and the idol of his sexual fantasies were one and the same. Good thing Dash had played enough football that nosebleeds were a common thing. And if they weren’t, or the nosebleed wasn’t what was obvious, most would assume he had just been fantasizing about Paulina or Swedish models. In truth he had gotten off thinking of Fenton and Phantom in a menage a trois; he still did, despite it being near impossible without some scientific gizmo splitting them.
“This is where we first met- remember?” Dash smirked.
“Yeah. You hit me in the back of the head with a football while I was reading National Astrographic.” Danny could picture it in his head. “You picked the ball off of this bench where it fell after hitting me and asked if I was seeing stars yet.”
Dash chuckled. “All of them thought I was being rude, including you. Never imagined it was flirting, huh, Fenton?” His tone held that light mockery he used often at school.
“No. And I didn’t get how you shoving me into a locker could be a profession of love.” Danny had gotten over it. He knew now that it was confusing for Dash to have those feelings, so he did what his father told him would fix just about every problem: fight it into submission. “But hey, to every man his own.”
“And I never thought YOU would actually be gay. Thought you’d end up with the goth for sure.”
“Nah. Sam uses me to keep the hounds away.” Danny gave a single chuckle. “She enjoys spending time with Jazz more, to be honest.”
“Her loss.” The blonde snorted, pulling his dark-haired boyfriend closer. “Does she know we’re dating?”
“Not yet. I heard her and Jazz were swapping rumors and ideas about my rendezvous with a mystery man, Tucker joined too.”
“Oh?” Dash’s eyebrow cocked. “Who’d they guess?”
“Sam said that after an incident Phantom and I became secret lovers, and possibly entered a threesome with Walker. Jazz made a guess that I was in a relationship with Ghost Writer, Clockwork, or Technus. Tucker even had the sheer loss of brainpower to say I was most likely in a relationship with the Vlad Plasmius or even – for a reason I can’t comprehend – the Fenton Thermos. I hope he was joking . . .”
“That would be weird.” Dash tried not to smirk. The thought of his boyfriend with the thermos was too humorous to contain all the cackles within himself. “They’re nuts.”
“Oh like you don’t have similar thoughts.” Danny gently poked Dash’s masculine chest.
“You don’t know half of my thoughts about you.” His hand, much too gentle for someone of his muscular and beefy build to seem capable of, pulled Danny’s shirt off. It was a warm autumn, so it wouldn’t get cold. If it did, he could always offer a natural heat source.
“Do any of them involve this bench?” Danny’s cockiness shined through.
“Since our first date wasn’t on this bench I wanted for our next step to be.” He let Danny process that for a bit, enjoying the red flush. “A first kiss is supposed to be romantic, right?”
“K-kiss. Um . . . . yeah. Exactly.” His skin was still the shade of his sister’s hair.
Dash pulled in Danny’s face to kiss own. The first three seconds were chaste, before their tongues started to twine and hit together. Dash’s hands moving down to hold his boyfriend’s waist. Danny’s hands on top the much bigger ones. Their eyes closed as the moment was-
"I knew there had to be a reason why you liked picking on Fenton the most!” A triumphant voice shouted from behind. Kwan’s voice.
The two abruptly broke off their kiss. To their horror it was not just Kwan. It was Kwan, Paulina, Star, Tucker, Sam, Jazz, Valerie, Dani, Maddie, Jack, and several members of the football team.
    “Umm . . . . . Hi?” Danny’s face was is frozen horror.
“Ha! I WIN! Hand it over!” Dani had her hands outreached to the others, whom put different amounts of cash into them. “I KNEW it was Dash!” This made the horror lessen- but only by a small margin.
“Oh, honey! This is wonderful!” Maddie squealed in delight. “I always knew you were gay!~”
“How did you know?” Jack, still shocked he didn’t figure it out, asked.
“A mother always knows. Be it about ghosts or girls or boys, a mother knows.” Maddie beamed in pride.
“Dash Baxter, huh?” He looked over the jock. “You haven’t been using my son for sex have you?”
“What? No!” He took a deep breath. “I’m only at the second yard line, here.”
Jack gave a look reserved mostly for ghosts he thought were a threat. “Just don’t try to score a touchdown too early.”
“Not planning to, Mr. Fenton.” Dash knew that Jack Fenton was an idiot, but he was an idiot with weapons. The most dangerous kind.
“Can I watch and film when you do? I could make tons with it!” Dani’s smiled grew to an almost maniacal grin.
“Dani!” Valerie gave an exasperated sigh.
“Let’s leave these two alone.” Maddie giggled, directing the horde to the opposite end of the park.
Jack held her hand as they walked away, “My son dating Dash Baxter! Next thing you know Danny will say his first date was with a ghost!”
The seven who knew the truth didn’t dare even hint at the fact that Danny technically WAS a ghost during his first date. So even if the first date Danny went on was with Dash, as Danny Fenton, Jack was still obliviously correct.
